So my second winter break of the school year is about to come to a end, so sad!!! We just had two crazy snow storms, aka Snowpocalypse. The first storm brought us about 20 inches which is just totally insane. I am not the kind of guy who likes manual labor and I make sure that is known before it starts to snow. This did not make my parents happy, so I locked myself in my room as I normally do when it is snowing. I only went outside to clean off my car which I did not use until 10 days later.
About 3 days after this first storm, we had a second monster storm, which was no fun at all. For the first storm my Dad did most of the shoveling, but for this storm he was away on business. So this meant I had to suck it up and shovel. I did not like this at all, and I had my mom up my back the whole time I was shoveling. After I thought I had finished, I was informed by my mother that I had missed some spots, and after a long discussion I won and did not have to go back outside!
After all of the crazy snow I now have to go back to school which is quite upsetting. I was telling my Mom that I really do not mind going to school it is just the waking up at the crack of dawn thing that I do not like. About 20 minutes later we got a phone call from the Carroll County Public Schools say that we will be opening 2 hours late for the whole week. I got my wish!!!

Crazy???
So it has been a while since I last updated this blog so here I go!!! Well my Marching Band season is coming to an end this week. It has been a rough season, we have gone through a lot of staff changes and we have to deal with all sorts of problems which make mad just thinking about them so I will not go into detail with them. Anyway it has been four years that I have done this activity which is just so surprising because that is the most I have committed to something in my whole life I am pretty sure. Even though this has been a tough season I sad to see it come to an end because my four years of doing this activity is over!!!
Marching Band is not the only source of stress this year; I am completing an Internship at a local elementary school in a 3rd grade class. I am happy to say I am having the time of my life doing this!!! It is just so much better than being in a classroom being taught on how to teach but now I am actually doing it!!!

Vacation 2009!!!
So I finally got the trip to the beach I have wanted all summer!!! This “Beach Trip” consists of one day at a beach in Lewes, Delaware and an evening trip to the Ocean City Boardwalk, which I have never been too (surprising… I know!!!) Well here we go my vacation in a nut shell…

Day One
The start of this vacation was a real early one, as are most vacations. I woke up around twenty of seven and only hit the snooze button once which is a big shocker!!! After my usual morning routine I had to take my car to the mechanic, about two days ago I was backing out of my neighbors drive way and hit the curb and busted a “hose” so off I went!!! Then we were on our way to the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Maryland, I think this is about my fifth time coming to this hotel. A person would think that it would get old but it really hasn’t yet. For some odd reason the drive went by pretty quickly, I just remember it being long but it was only about two hours. When we got here, we checked into our room on the sixth floor and the room had a great view of the Chesapeake Bay! After unpacking and getting settled in my family and I went down to the pool and chilled for a while and we got some very expensive lunch, which was really not that great. After some more chilling we went to go and get some appetizers in the Regency Club, which is only available to guests on sixth floor and then we went to dinner at a restaurant called Portside and got some really good Maryland Crab Soup. As the night progressed I took a walk and got some very cool pictures, and then I called it a night!!!

Day Two
You begin to realize how nice sleeping in is when you finally get to for the first time in about four days. I have always hated sleeping in hotels, in many cases of mine I have been stuck sleeping in a rollaway bed which are not that comfortable to start off with. This past night was a perfect example of that I could not find a comfortable position in the bed, I was hot then I was cold, which gets real old fast!!! After getting to sleep around 12:30 am I was out for the night and was up at 8:30 am. I know 8:30 does not seem that late but when you have been waking up around 6:00 am and getting to bed at the same time I did last night… do the math it is a whole 2 extra hours of sleep!!! After a shower, some breakfast, and a cup of coffee me and my family were of to Cape Henlopen which is located in Lewes, Delaware which is about two hours away from the hotel. The two hour drive there was not that bad at all and when we got there I was so happy to see the sand and the ocean! This is the first time I have been to any beach besides the Outer Banks in North Carolina and it was the first time without any one my own age. Since I did not have any one to hang out with I had some great time with three people I met at the beach, Me, Myself and I!!! I did some tanning and I read my book which was actually really good. We got some lunch at the snack shack at the beach and about an hour or so later it started to down pour so that was the end of our day at the beach, but that was okay because we had a great time! Megan my sister actually made a friend for the day!!! So off we went on the road again to the hotel for some dinner and a relaxing evening!!!
Day Three
So Wednesday July 29, 2009 will be an important day in the history of Sean Patrick Kelley, it was the first time I have been to the Ocean City Boardwalk on the Eastern Shore in Maryland. I have been to Ocean City once when I was five but have not regulation of it so it does not count! I really do not understand what all the hype is about, I found it very overrated and crowded. Not only was it crowded but it is the same damn thing everywhere you walk, there must be at least 40 different T-Shirt shops and about 20 different stores for Sunglasses. The 20 different stores for Sunglasses were actually beneficial because I was on a search to find a new, sportier pair and to my luck I did find a pair thanks to a foreign exchange student working in the store. On that note are American Teenagers really that lazy that they do not want to work and they just want to sit around and do nothing so they get international students to do the work for half the pay most likely. Sadly this adventure was only shared between me and my Dad, my sister Megan was sadly feeling a little under the weather and could not make the trip. So my Mom and my sister had a long night at the hotel.
Day Four
The final day of my trip came to a quick end, my sister was sadly really sick and could not make it through the day and my family and I decided that it was best to go home early even though it was our last day there. On the way home we stopped some outlets and went shopping for a while which was fun and I got some more clothes for my internship!!!
Overall the trip was a lot of fun and I had a great time!!!
Until next time!!!

SA at the Hippo, Hershey Park and SUMMER!!!
So to start off my summer with a big bang myself and my friend Stacie saw the musical I am just in love with Spring Awakening!!! I saw the show in New York twice, once in September and a second time on January 18th (closing day). So if you do the math this would be my third time seeing the show and people have asked to me, "Why do you see it so many times?" my response has always been, “It’s like watching my favorite movie over again several times” That always seems to shut them up pretty quickly! So I obviously know the show very well and can give a good review…
I would have to say overall I enjoyed the performances from the tour cast much better than the Broadway, but I did miss some things from the Broadway cast, mainly acting choices. O ya Matt was out and Chase was on as Georg!
Christy Altomore (Wendla) - Great voice, her acting could be more innocent but overall she was just great!
Kyle Riabko (Melchior) - His acting and voice were just amazing, there was nothing really bad about him! His replacement will have a hard time filling his shoes.
Blake Bashoff (Mortiz) - I just fell in love with his Mortiz! He was so funny, compared to Gerard Canonico, who had a rocker edge to him, which was enjoyable! I like his voice, but do not love it but it is very nice and different.
The Girls - Gabrielle Garza (Anna), Kimiko Glenn (Thea), Sarah Hunt (Martha), and Steffi D (Ilse) - They were all great!! They sounded just very nice together, Mama Reprise WOW!!!! They had a lot of energy!! Kimiko was so spunky! Gabrielle just had this innocence to her which was nice to see. Sarah did a good job as Martha, the scene before the song was good, I really enjoyed her acting there but in the song I would have liked to see a little bit more. Steffi! What can I say her voice was just the greatest! I can look beyond her acting choices and just listen to her voice!
The Boys -Andy Mientus (Hanchen), Ben Moss (Ernst), Anthony Lee Medina (Otto), Chase Davidson(Georg) - Overall they were a much stronger group than the closing Broadway cast but I do love those guys! Andy was such a creeper! I really enjoyed him; the creeper approach was very funny! Ben has a great voice and he was perfect as Ernst, his acting choices were spot on! Anthony made such a small character have some substance to him, good voice! Chase was such a good Georg! I asked him at the stage door how many times he has went on as Georg and he said this was his 7th. After hearing that I could definitely see how he was settling into the role! His Touch Me solo was a little reserved but good! My Junk was spot on! Angela and him were just so funny!
The Adults - Angela Reed and Henry Stram – I have to say I was disappointed by the both of them. Angela could have done so much more for the characters, especially the school teacher! I think the problem was that I was use to Christine; she was just so funny she was totally hamming it up towards the end of her run! As for Henry the biggest thing was the scene between him and Moritz, when he was telling his father that he had failed. If I remember correctly there was a slap somewhere in there and that was not done, Blake just got down on his knees and looked like he was praying, I am not sure if Henry was not conformable with that, or was it Blake?
Over the last couple of days of school we read the script in my Drama 3 class and we learned about Mortiz decision to commit suicide, when Don’t do Sadness/Blue Wind came around my friend Stacie said "I just don't want to see him go, his story is not finished!" This is so true!
After starting the summer off with Spring Awakening my family and I went to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania for 2 days which was so much fun!!! The first day at the park we went to the water park at Hershey and it was so nice just to go down some water slides, sit in a tube and relax in the lazy river for awhile. After doing the water park for a couple of hours we decided to go onto a couple of rides in the park, the first ride we went on was the Wild Mouse. This roller coaster has some very sharp turns and my cell phone was in my pocket and after the ride it was not there! I had lost my cell phone!!! You never want something so bad until you cannot have it, and that is exactly what happened to me. I checked the lost and found several times and it was not there so I had accepted the fact that I had lost my phone for good!!! When we got home from Pennsylvania I got a new (better) cell phone and started adding numbers to my contact list and a day later we got a call from Hershey saying they found my phone and it was in perfect shape!!! So my mom gets a new phone!!!
This summer has been good so far and is getting better because I am going to beach for a long weekend which will be great!!!

Hope
So I am learning more and more that getting your hopes up for anything is dangerous, not only is it dangerous but it is devastating in a way. My parents have this thing they do which makes getting your hopes up dangerous. They tell us one thing change there minds and when I get mad and yell the best part of it is my parents make me feel like I am the bad guy. I just don’t understand why people think it is okay to say one thing and do the other. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary hope is defined as the following… to cherish a desire with anticipation… to desire with expectation of obtainment… to expect with confidence. I think the best definition is “to expect with confidence” when someone tell you they are getting you something or that we are going to go somewhere as a family, you are confident that it is going to happen but that confidence is not always shared. I guess the best thing to do is to hope against hope which is to hope without any basis for expecting fulfillment.
